Retreat to the mountains of SW Oregon and participate in a 5-day mosaic workshop with me and up to eleven others. Using your images, my images, or ones I provide of van Goghs paintings, students will learn to paint mosaics with chaotic andamento and my signature fluid double reverse method, setting stained glass pieces onto a temporary substrate without adhesive and then flipping and adhering the mosaic onto its permanent substrate. The setting for the workshop is a mountain forest setting on the edge of the Cascade-Siskyou National Monument. There are plenty of level walks, as well as more strenuous hikes, as along the Pacific Crest Trail 3 miles back towards Ashland.

About Green Springs: LocalsGuide App: Green Springs Oregon!
Getting to the GS Mosaic Retreat & Workshop: Fly into Medford, Oregon, USA. Ashland is 20-25 minutes SE of the Medford airport (MFR). The GSI and cabins are another 40 minutes past Ashland, so the retreat is about an hour's drive from the Medford airport. GSI address: 11470 Highway 66, Ashland, OR 97520.
Accommodations: You could find a hotel or B&B in Ashland (see end of this document), rent a room or cabin at the Green Springs Inn (GSI), or even camp at nearby Hyatt Lake. My preference is that everyone stay at the GSI, but not staying there is not a deal-breaker. Call Green Springs Inn (and Cabins) at 541-890-6435 to reserve your accommodations (lodge room or cabin). Rooms and cabins are already being booked for next summer, so call ASAP for more choices. I have booked 3 cabins but no lodge rooms for you. If interested, reserve one of those 3 cabins under your name. Then you can decide whether to share cabins, get a cabin of your own or just go for lodge rooms. They will be guaranteed with your credit cards. (There is no charge in advance for rooms or cabins.) You will pay GSI directly when you check out (vs go through me). Note: the lodge rooms are next to the Forest Room, which is where the workshop will take place. The cabins are 5-10 minute walk to the Forest Room and restaurant.
Food: While at the GSI, I recommend that you plan to run a tab so that you can charge meals, etc., to your own accounts. Again, this way you will pay the GSI directly rather than pass payments through me. If you get a cabin, then you will have a kitchen. Food would need to be purchased before leaving Ashland (22 miles downhill). If there is interest, I will ask for group meals. I encourage you to sign up for group meals, which will be somewhat less costly than ordering off the menu. Group meals will also be available when the restaurant is not open to the public, i.e. 7:30 or 8:00 AM for an early breakfast. GSI will charge individuals for the group meals that they choose to participate in and tab those charges to their individual accounts. NOTE: Group meals will not be available on a spontaneous basis. Only those who sign up at least a day in advance will be served.
Currently, the GSI is preparing menus and calculating costs for group meals so that I can
offer that option to participants. You can choose any number of the group meals offered.
I will start a private fb page that will include updates, including a meal sign-up sheet for the group meals that I deem appropriate. We can also discuss your entertainment desires, such as hikes, winery tour, Shakespeare (or other) plays, and music. For getting around, I recommend that you bring or rent cars individually or as groups. I can help coordinate that on the fb page. I will help you find cabin or lodge room mates; just ask.
